Day 1 of the Cavendish Beach Music Festival (CBMF) 2025 is officially in the books, and what a way to kick things off! There was a jam-packed lineup spanning all three stages: Main, Kitchen, and Emerging Artist.
It was a perfect day to start the festival. It was warm with a slight PEI to cool you down if needed.
The Main Stage delivered hit after hit, starting with the high-powered sounds of The Wild Palominos, followed by Tony Stevens, Sacha, Bryan Martin, and the rising star Josh Ross. Each artist brought something unique, setting the perfect build-up for what would be an unforgettable headliner performance.
The headliner was none other than the legendary Shania Twain. Before even stepping foot on stage, Shania made headlines a few days prior with a remarkable act of generosity by donating $25,000 to the Western PEI Food Bank. The kindness will never be forgotten by islanders!
People were anxiously awaiting the first glimpse of this iconic Canadian superstar. She ran onto the stage wearing sparkling denim shorts, a crisp white shirt, and bedazzled yellow shoes that caught the light with every step, her energy electrifying the crowd before she even spoke. Shania delivered a show that was nothing short of magic. Her performance was a blend of classics and a couple new tracks, wrapped in her signature charm.
Fans sang along at the top of their lungs to hits like "Still the One," "Any Man of Mine," and the iconic "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" Shania’s stage presence was powerful but it was like seeing a beyond talented old friend. She had a connection with the audience that was second to none. One especially touching moment came when she paused the show to acknowledge a 14-year-old girl in the crowd who was celebrating her birthday. Without missing a beat, Shania led the entire audience in singing 'Happy Birthday' to her, creating a memory that girl would never forget."
Day 1 set a high bar, ending with a spectacular fireworks display. To be honest, it’s hard to imagine how it could get any better, but if today was any indication, CBMF 2025 is only just getting started!
Let’s go, CBMF! See you Friday :) - DownEastMusic
